Homemade Creamer

Finding a decent creamer is the bane of my existence.

I found out about 8 years ago dairy and me are not friends. I have an immune response to casein which is the protein in dairy so that eliminates ALL of it.

I am not a coffee drinker but damn I do love a good cup of tea with cream. I loved cream and all the dairy.

Over the years, I’ve toggled with making my own to finding ones that are cleanish and non-dairy.

Nothing is the same as cream, but I had been sticking with two that were pretty decent but starting to break the bank. And with the pandemic, it was getting hard to come by.

So back to making my own again. I used to make my own coconut milk with flakes but this is a great alternative if you are pressed for time or don’t want to do all of that.


  • 1 Can of Coconut Milk (stick to the coconut and water only varieties minus the gums and stabilizers, Trader Joes brand is one of them)

  • 1 tsp Vanilla (double for vanilla flavor)

  • 1 Heaping Tbs of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (for chocolate)

  • 1-2 dates or 1tsp of honey if you want it sweeter. I don’t like my creamer sweet so I don’t add them, but add to your preference.

How to Prepare:

  • Blend and Enjoy as needed!

Note: I love this tea with my dandelion dark roast. It’s like chocolate flavored coffee. The chocolate version also pairs great with golden chai by Numi.
